Isolator of accumulator-protection against deep discharge with current limiter

Feature description

The device is designed for connecting 12V (24V, 48V) batteries to 13.8V (27.5V, 54.5V) power sources, and its function ensures that the battery is not overloaded with excessive charging current. During battery discharge, it ensures disconnecting the battery from the load after reaching specified voltage, protecting the battery from damage.
The strength of the charging current is adjustable in steps specified by the user and depends on battery size and the feeder current allowance. If the battery voltage reaches the feeder voltage, the battery's charging current starts decreasing until it reaches the magnitude of the trickle current. The load is connected in parallel to input terminals of the cut off switch, so the battery can be disconnected from the output terminals of the cut off switch under operation. The backup mode starts automatically after the feeder (power source) failure, and the system is powered without interruption from the battery. This status is indicated by a yellow LED. The green LED indicates that the voltage at the input terminals of the cut off switch (i.e. at the load) is higher than the cut off voltage. The battery voltage decreases during backup to the value of the cut off voltage, when the battery is disconnected by the cut off switch, preventing its further discharging. All LEDs go out after the cut off. After replacing the battery with a charged battery, the backup can be started by pressing the reset button. This connects the battery to the input terminals of the cut off switch (to the load) and backup proceeds until the battery is disconnected due to discharge, or until the current supply from the feeder (power source) is restored.

The system switches from the backup mode to the battery charging mode automatically after the power supply from the feeder (power source) is restored. If it occurs during charging that the battery ahs lower voltage than about 10.5V (21V, 42V), (e.g. duet to short circuit in one of the cells), the red LED goes on and the battery is disconnected. This protects not only the battery but also the limiter against excessive thermal load. The cut off switch is equipped with over-current protection, limiting the maximum current from the battery, when for instance a short circuit in the load circuit or in the load could result in damage to the load as well as the battery. In that case the over-current protection disconnects the battery. The protection also works during resetting with the reset button to a short circuit.
